Trias Academy of Forensics

Trias Academy of Forensics is an educational curriculum development company specializing in the field of forensic science. We were founded with the mission of building curricula by current forensic investigators for educators. Our focus is to provide forensic science students with a comprehensive understanding of the field, so they can become highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals. Additionally, Trias provides continuing education for forensic professionals worldwide in English and Spanish.

Kirslie Bowman's professional trajectory is characterized by an unyielding dedication to forensic investigation, child welfare, and a continual pursuit of knowledge. Having amassed four and a half years of experience as a Forensic Investigator at a local sheriff's office, Kirslie has exhibited a profound interest in Death Investigations, with a specific focus on cases involving violent crimes. Prior to assuming her role as a Forensic Investigator, Kirslie served for one and a half years as a Child Protective Investigator, earning certification as a Child Welfare Protective Investigator. Her steadfast commitment to child welfare underscores her resolve to safeguard society's most vulnerable members.

 

In addition to her investigative roles, Kirslie has played instrumental roles as a Field Training Officer (FTO), internship mentor, and Forensics Advisor for the Forensic Explorers Program. Beyond her duties in the field, she has significantly contributed by developing and refining the internship manual, molding the educational experiences of aspiring forensic professionals.

Kirslie's impact extends further as an integral member of the Florida Emergency Mortuary Operations Response System Team (FEMORS), highlighting her preparedness to respond to emergency situations with a specialization in mortuary operations.

On the educational front, Kirslie earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida (USF). Building on this foundation, she recently completed her Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Forensic Science from the University of Florida (UF) this past spring. Undaunted by challenges, Kirslie is actively pursuing a doctorate degree, underscoring her commitment to advancing her expertise in the field. Her skillset is distinguished by creativity and organizational prowess, contributing to her effectiveness in the dynamic field of forensic investigation. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Kirslie’s bilingual proficiency enhances her ability to connect with diverse communities.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Kirslie proudly identifies as a dog parent, showcasing her compassionate and nurturing nature not only in her professional endeavors but also in her personal life. Kirslie Bowman stands as a dedicated and versatile professional, seamlessly integrating her expertise in forensic investigation and child welfare with an unwavering commitment to ongoing education. Her journey is characterized by a fervent passion for justice, a relentless pursuit of improvement, and a profound sense of responsibility to the community she serves.

RUT AQUINO-KNIGHT

Rut Aquino-Knight has dedicated her career to forensic investigation, demonstrating unwavering commitment and expertise during her tenure with a local sheriff's office. With six years of service as a Forensic Investigator, Rut has consistently showcased a passion for various aspects of forensic science, including Forensic Entomology, Cold Cases, Major Crimes, Shootings, and Mass Casualties.

Her involvement extends beyond the regular duties, as Rut has been an integral part of the Forensic Services Volunteer team for approximately two years. Notably, she serves as a member of the Missing & Abducted Children (MAC) Team, emphasizing her dedication to the welfare of children and families in distress. As a Field Training Officer (FTO) and Internship mentor, Rut plays a crucial role in shaping the next generation of forensic professionals through hands-on training and guidance.

Adding to her responsibilities, Rut serves as a Forensics Advisor for the Forensic Explorers Program, contributing to the education and development of aspiring forensic scientists. Her commitment to education doesn’t stop there – Rut is also an instructor at the Law Enforcement Academy, having received Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) instructor certification in May 2022. She extends her expertise to local state colleges, including Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC), where she earned her Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Crime Scene Technology. Additionally, she is in the process of completing her bachelor's degree and actively pursuing a graduate degree, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

GLORIA LIN

Gloria Lin's professional journey at a local sheriff's office is a testament to her six years of unwavering dedication as a Forensic Investigator. Her keen interests in Forensic Anthropology, Forensic Archaeology, and excavations of clandestine and historical sites have propelled her into the heart of investigative endeavors.

Gloria's multifaceted role extends beyond traditional investigative methods. She is a vital member of the Unmanned Systems Team (UST) or "Drone" Team, holding the esteemed Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 certification. As one of two civilian members, Gloria's contributions over the past two to three years have added a unique perspective to the team's operations. Her involvement showcases a commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in forensic investigation.

In addition to her role in the UST, Gloria is an integral part of the Investigative Technological Advancement Group (I.T.A.G.), further highlighting her prowess in leveraging technology for investigative purposes. As a Field Training Officer (FTO) and Internship mentor, she plays a crucial role in shaping the skills and knowledge of emerging forensic professionals. Her dedication extends to the Forensic Explorers Program, where she serves as a Forensics Advisor. Gloria's responsibilities also include managing the chemical inventory, with ongoing efforts to meet accreditation standards. Her commitment to excellence is reflected in her pursuit of Certified Crime Scene Analyst (C.C.S.A.) accreditation through the International Association of Identification (IAI).

Educationally, Gloria earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Forensic Science from the University of Central Florida (UCF), complemented by a minor in Chemistry and a Certificate in Crime Scene Investigation. With an eye on continuous growth, she contemplates the possibility of pursuing a graduate degree in the future. Gloria's skillset is characterized by impeccable organization, technological savvy, and bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin. Beyond her professional pursuits, she proudly identifies as a cat parent, adding a touch of warmth and compassion to her dynamic and impactful role in forensic investigation. Gloria stands as a seasoned professional, seamlessly blending her expertise in forensic science with a forward-thinking approach to technology. Her journey is marked by a commitment to precision, ongoing education, and a genuine passion for leveraging cutting-edge tools in the pursuit of justice.
